I have managed to turn my life upside down once again. The return of an old love, just long enough to tease before he packs his bags again for more adventures. Crossing lines with co-workers resulting in broken hearts (or egos) and heart-breaking revenge dances around a fire too hot, even for me. Disappointing nights with gods from another universe where nature is not always kind. And hot southern nights with hot northern boys, watching sunrises before jittery mornings laced with fear and self-loathing.
It is time to simplify things again. And symbolically I just received the saddening note that the man who seemed to mark the onset of my upside down world is reclaiming his furniture that so perfectly decorates my home. But maybe things were better when they were emptier. Maybe it's not always in my best interest to invite others to decorate my life just so I can dance to the music of distraction with them.
So here it goes. Back to a house with minimal furniture. Back to a life focused on my inner balance. Back to the only love that really matters. The love that asks for nothing in return, makes no demands, is simple and honest and always present. Back to center.
