Lately I haven't been my light for you
The shadows of the past and future
Kept my heart confused and blue
The stickiness of old regret
I never made my dreams come true
And all the while my blinded soul
Forgot you were my rock and glue
The doubt I painted on your face
When laughter turned to silent me
And I was fighting for my place
A place with only room for one
Of me and mine and so it stays
With walls so tall I couldn't see
That love is freedom in any case
